Terms of Service
Our terms and conditions for waste clearance services.
These terms of service govern your use of the Sorted Waste website and our waste clearance brokerage services. By using our services, you agree to these terms.
Service Description
Sorted Waste is a waste clearance brokerage based in Yeovil. We arrange waste clearance, rubbish removal, and related services in Yeovil and the surrounding areas of Somerset, Dorset, and east Devon by introducing customers to a vetted network of independent local waste carriers. The actual collection, transport and disposal of waste is performed by the carrier we book on your behalf, who holds an upper-tier waste carrier registration with the Environment Agency and issues the waste transfer note for the job.
Services we arrange include but are not limited to: house clearances, garden clearances, office clearances, single item collections, and specialist clearances such as end-of-tenancy, deceased estate, and hoarder clearances.
Quotes and Pricing
All quotes provided by Sorted Waste are based on the information and images you provide at the time of enquiry, and are confirmed with the local collection partner before they are issued to you. Please note:
- Quotes are valid for 7 days from the date issued unless otherwise stated
- If the volume or type of waste differs significantly from what was described or photographed, we or your collection partner reserve the right to adjust the price before commencing work
- Prices are inclusive of labour, transport, and disposal by the collection partner at a licensed waste facility
- Payment is due on completion of the job unless otherwise agreed in advance
- We do not charge call-out fees or hidden surcharges
Access and Safety
You are responsible for ensuring:
- The collection partner has adequate access to the waste to be collected
- You have the authority to instruct the removal of the items in question
- The waste does not contain hazardous materials unless disclosed in advance (e.g. asbestos, chemicals, clinical waste)
- Parking is available within reasonable proximity to the collection point
We and the collection partner reserve the right to decline or cease a job if safety hazards, undisclosed hazardous waste, or materially different access conditions are identified on arrival.
Cancellation
You may cancel a booking free of charge with at least 24 hours' notice before the scheduled collection time. Cancellations made with less than 24 hours' notice may be subject to a cancellation fee to cover our costs. If we need to cancel or reschedule a booking, we will give you as much notice as possible and arrange an alternative time at your convenience.
Liability
Sorted Waste acts as a brokerage. The collection, transport and disposal of waste is performed by the independent local collection partner we book on your behalf. Every collection partner we use is required to hold an upper-tier Environment Agency waste carrier registration and to maintain public liability insurance in date for the duration of any job they attend. However:
- Liability for damage caused during collection, loading, transport or disposal rests with the collection partner attending the job, not with Sorted Waste
- Neither Sorted Waste nor the collection partner is liable for pre-existing damage to property or access routes
- Our liability for any claim arising from our brokerage and booking services is limited to the value of the booking fee attributable to that job
- We are not responsible for items removed at your instruction that you later wish to recover
- Once waste has been collected, it is processed promptly and cannot be returned
Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation.
Waste Disposal
All waste collected on jobs we book is taken by the licensed collection partner to a licensed waste transfer station for sorting and responsible disposal. The collection partner issues a waste transfer note for every job as required by law. Across our network of vetted local carriers, more than 90% of all waste collected is recycled or reused.
